Tychus got path of the Warrior for example and some people built tanky Tychuses. Mostly the problem is that Seasoned Marksman is bad.Ī few heroes got Path of talents outside their listed role. Pierce or 8s off hunter's mark are both better than Seasoned Marksman, but seeing how a lot of Tyrande builds proceed to grab 2 or 3 talents that buff autoattack it's not an unreasonable talent to give her. Hauling Tyrande around to press Q all the time is misusing her greatly. She's a support in that she does decent damage and helps your team hurt stuff even more. I mean, Tyrande does a lot of autoattack damage.
Granted, there's some talents that are just straight up "this ability costs x less mana" and some of those are good. There is never a time when I've actually wanted those talents or anything similar. Malfurion has one that refunds 100% of the mana cost when you cast Regrowth on Minions. Kerrigan has one that refunds 100% of mana cost if Ravage kills someone. There's other Heroes with similar talents like that, too. It's very confusing that Booster Shot and Covert Ops even exist at all, almost like they needed SOMETHING to put there in the meantime. And aside from being pretty "meh", Booster Shot competes with Gathering Power and Covert Ops competes with Hot Shots.
Nova, for example, got two mana talents this patch: Booster Shot and Covert Ops. but no one really uses them, because there's always a better choice. that Tyrande has Seasoned Marksman as one of her choices? Like, what? Who would even pick that!Īside from Conjurer's Pursuit, there's also a bunch of like, really weird mana savings talents that exist. Li Li's other Tier 1 talents are okay, but I find she becomes such a mana hog mid-late game that I need that extra mana regen. Though, granted, that's because Malf has literally no better Talents.
Technically the Assassin replacement CAN top the original, especially in the late game, but more often than not you are getting like half the attack power increase.Ĭonjurer's Pursuit isn't too bad on Li Li or Malfurion, I find. The replaced talents tend to be worse since they require that you sit in lane and gather orbs or kill minions. They were almost always better than any other talent in the same tier. Warrior was HP, Wizard was mana regen, and Assassin was auto-attack damage. "Path of" talents gave you a flat increase to stats per level. What saddens me is how path of the mage got turned into the terrible pick up health regen orbs to increase your mana regen talent.
